David Scheuneman, M.Div.
I am a Unitarian Universalist minister specializing in meditation instruction and spiritual direction. My mission is to offer resources for spiritual development through private consultation, group practice and educational opportunities. In particular, I try to present resources with a holistic or interfaith value. And I especially aim to assist with contemplative forms of spirituality – such as meditation and centering prayer. I developed this specialty through a master's degree in professional ministry. My education centered on learning how to facilitate the faith journey of others – allied with study in contemplative psychology, pastoral care and counseling. Subsequently, I received the endorsement of the Unitarian Universalist Association to serve as a minister. Meanwhile, I have been a meditator for 20 years. On that path, I have practiced both Buddhist meditation (Zen and Tibetan forms) and more Western styles of contemplative prayer. I continue to study the mystical branches of the world's religions to inspire my personal and professional paths. Some links related to my background and orientation:
